Automatic systems in washing machines require controls that are able to handle uncertainties in the washing process, such as variations in laundry weight and dirtiness. In this study, fuzzy logic is applied with the Tsukamoto method to regulate the washing duration and amount of water based on the input of laundry weight and dirtiness. The Tsukamoto method was chosen because of its ability to produce firm output through a fuzzy inference approach. The results of this implementation indicate that a fuzzy logic-based control system can provide a more flexible and efficient response in determining washing parameters compared to conventional control systems. Tests on several washing scenarios show that this method is able to improve the performance of automatic washing machines with more adaptive settings to varying laundry conditions.
