Abstract

This study presents the design and implementation of an automatic clothesline system intended for boarding house residents, integrating Arduino Uno, rain sensor, and light sensor (LDR). The system automatically moves the clothesline based on weather conditions, enhancing practicality and minimizing the risk of wet laundry due to unpredictable weather. Using a prototype method, the system was developed and tested in real-world conditions. Results show that the system works responsively in under 1 second and reliably detects rain or sunlight conditions, controlling a servo motor to open or close the clothesline. The findings indicate that this system is effective, low-cost, and suitable for daily use in urban boarding environments.
